Sneak peak

State of the Project

If you have gotten this page either I invited you or you've been invited by someone else. This is a project that has gone on for far too long. About three years almost to the day. Some of the delay has been because of world problems, you know about....

About a year ago I decided that I did not like the direction this was going, and literally started over. It is now close to completion as I hope this page demonstrates. But there are still many holes, omissions, and facts I'm sure I've got completely wrong.

It turned out to be a much more complex story than I could ever have imagined. I've dealt with the "Group" most of my career. I thought I knew the company. I didn't! If I knew what I was signing up for I wouldn't have. But I'm back to being glad I did!

Below are the status of the chapters. Click on the chapter title and it takes you to that chapter. Some only have the graphics I plan to use. Mainly the early ones. The verbiage is in rough draft for those at the moment. If anyone wants to see those I will send them to you. The chapters that are more complete are the ones more contemporary to the story. Those are the ones I want to be scrutinized and challenged. A couple are still in outline form, but please feel free to tear into them also.

Please know that none of this has seen a professional copy editor yet, they've only been edited by me, which definitely means they haven't been professionally edited! So besides the grammar, there are still some non sequitur's I'm aware of, I know there are more. So any input on those (not so much the grammar) would be most appreciated.

I taken all my questions out of the manuscript (No, most of them out, some I can't be subtle about) as I found that most will not tackle a question, but will more likely question a statement that is presented as fact. So there are questions that I have that are now just statements. Please go after the statements that you think are untrue, and where and why I've gotten it wrong.

Finally, I'm still in the market for photos. If you have any, including of yourself, I would most like to have them. Preferably ones depicting some action or setting.

So the bottom line is that I'm in the final kick towards the finish line, and with your input I'll get there soon.

I am now actively talking to publishers again. Nothing anywhere near definite yet. If I have to I will go the self publishing route. Those who think I can't or won't do not know the story behind TV on Wheels!

Thank's for your help!

Jim

From past notes and research on the history of broadcasting, I decided that to help market this book to people outside of the industry, I have a site that explains What Came Before. Many of you who are in the industry know much of that story. But I bet many don't know some of the interesting and arcane people, and facts that shaped that history.
Some examples
